Italian instrumental Doomgaze/Post-Rock trio MOUNTAINX have unveiled a brand new single “BER/LIN,” released on March 08, 2026.
“’BER/LIN’ drifts through a post-DDR twilight – cold concrete atmospheres wrapped in slow, doom-laden weight. A restrained instrumental where urban decay meets post-rock tension and quiet, oppressive beauty.”

MOUNTAINX is an instrumental Doomgaze/Post-Rock band from Zurich/Munich/South Tyrol.
After meeting by chance in the winter 2023 in a small village in the Alps, David Freitag and Marco Ulivieri decided to restart a band. The last time they had played together was in Berlin in a rehearsal studio near Kottbusser Tor, nearly 20 years before.
Living between Zurich, Munich and Italy, where David and Marco where born, the first songs where written through audio interfaces and internet. The two were surprised how fast they could write down their ideas. The third member is Leo, Marco’s brother. Common references are bands like Mogwai, God Is An Astronaut, Nothing, Outlander, Lockstep, Grivo, Jesu, My Bloody Valentine.
An instrumental remote band from Italy, no words needed, the only hint about the inspiration of the songs are the titles: strictly two words separated by a slash.
