Bergen-based label Karisma Records has released today — May 12, 2026 — “PROG presents: Karisma Records 2026,” a 20-track compilation drawing from the catalogs of Karisma Records, its Jazz-oriented sister label Is It Jazz? Records, and the Metal imprint Dark Essence Records.
The collection reads like a who’s who of contemporary Scandinavian Progressive and Avant-Garde Rock: Airbag, Magic Pie, Seven Impale, Jordsjø, Oak, MEER, Tusmørke, Bushman’s Revenge, Bjørn Riis, and Lars Fredrik Frøislie (Wobbler) are all represented, alongside newer names from the label’s ever-expanding roster — Leagus, WIZRD, Krokofant, Soft Ffog, Ritual, Liminal Sky, Flock, and Caravela Escarlate.
With a combined runtime that spans Jazz-inflected Prog, Dark Psych, Post-Rock, and Nordic Folk-tinged experimentation, the compilation serves as both an entry point for the uninitiated and a compelling snapshot of where Karisma‘s constellation of artists stands in 2026 — with several of the featured acts having already dropped or announced new studio records this year, including Bjørn Riis‘ “Lifandi,” Agusa‘s “Panacea,” and the forthcoming Liminal Sky debut “All Tomorrow’s Darkness” (June 2026).
