In 2019, the Swedish Power Metal heroes Majestica released their debut album “Above The Sky“, achieving enormous success within the Metal community. Now they are back not only with a new album, but also with a special surprise for fans: a Power Metal album in a Christmas musical key called “A Christmas Carol”. This is pure Symphonic Power Metal in the true spirit of Majestica with elements inspired by Twilight Force, Rhapsody, Alan Silvestri, Danny Elfman and John Williams. Today the band releases the video for their second single “Ghost Of Marley.” Watch the video below:

Bassist Chris David comments: “This is the very first song that MAJESTICA has written for a two-part lead duet, and it is also our first opera style music video. ‘Ghost Of Marley’ is a conversation between the protagonist of ‘A Christmas Carol’, Ebenezer Scrooge, and the ghost of his old colleague Jacob Marley, from whom he receives a visit. The video sees me as Marley and Tommy as Scrooge. This was one of the most challenging songs I’ve recorded to date, both musically and visually, but it was a lot of fun.”

What makes this Christmas album truly unique is not only the inclusion of well-known Christmas songs, but also because the theme is the famous story of Ebenezer Scrooge, a character born from the pen of Charles Dickens and protagonist of the novel “The Christmas Carol” . Through the different voices of the many characters in the story, accompanied by appropriate music, people will hear not only a really well composed new power metal album, but also a power metal musical that immediately recreates the Christmas atmosphere.
Voices are reminiscent of Michael Kiske, Tobias Sammet and Sebastian Bach, but this time there are guest singers from different bands like Veonity, Hot Beef Injection and all the members of Majestica. The artwork was created by underground artist Madeleine Andersson.
In the previous album “Above The Sky” the legendary Uli Kusch (ex Helloween, ex Gamma Ray, ex Masterplan) played drums; in this Majestica have hired the great Joel Kollberg (Veonity) who not only plays drums in such a way that he looks like he was born to do it, but he also loves power metal and knows exactly what you need. The music was written, recorded and produced by Majestica in Nygård, Ekshärad in the summer of 2020. Mixing and mastering are by Jonas Kjellgren (Scar Symmetry, Raubtier) at Black Lounge Studios.
