Australian Progressive/Experimental Rock group Kodiak Empire have joined the roster of renowned Australian record label Bird’s Robe Records. “Silent Bodies” out April 29, 2022.
They will mark the beginning of the partnership with an international release of their “Silent Bodies” record, originally released in 2016. Featuring the epic “Amputechture” era The Mars Volta-meets-Diorama era Silverchair hybrid of Hakbah and the washy Mathy Alternative Rock of Sun, the record is a glimpse into the formation of a truly exciting prospect on the Australian Progressive music scene.
Mike Solo, Director of Bird’s Robe, says this of the partnership: “I’m very proud to welcome Kodiak Empire to the Bird’s Robe family. These guys have been attending Bird’s Robe shows for years and I’ve come to know them as polite, incredibly talented and good natured people. Just the kind of people I like!
They have such a unique and gifted sound and I’ve been a big fan of theirs for a long time. Before they release their next album of brand new music, I really wanted to share Silent Bodies with more people around the world. Their music deserves to be heard and appreciated and I hope we can brighten people’s days a bit with their exciting mathy-experimental-alternative-rock hybrid.
At any rate, here we are, with a fantastic new album to share with people from this hardworking and unique Australian post-rock group.“
The band said: “We are thrilled to be joining this iconic Australia label and creative collective. More details on our album release will be coming soon!“
Kodiak Empire have earned plaudits for their live shows, including performances alongside COG, sleepmakeswaves, Caligula’s Horse & more.
“Silent Bodies” was recorded, mixed and mastered by Govinda Doyle at Galaxial Paradise on the Tweed River.
