FFF Bong

Emerging from the swampy outskirts of the Dandenong Mountains, Alt-Rock/Psychedelic Sludge outfit Flower Field Folly has officially released their latest single, “Bong Slut.” Now available for streaming, the track serves as a visceral sonic illustration of the enduring conflict between the natural majesty of the mountains and the encroaching urban concrete.

Blending Grungy riffs with reflective mid-tempo arrangements and Doom-inspired moods, Flower Field Folly (FFF) continues to carve a niche within the Australian Heavy underground. “Bong Slut” explores themes of escapism and the heavy toll of sobriety, with lyrics depicting a descent into a “green void” to ward off the crushing weight of depression. The track’s atmosphere is defined by its raw, resin-stained delivery and a “necromancer” howl that echoes the band’s swampy, suburban origins.

The single was recorded at Scary Monkey Studios in Chum Creek, with Ethan Prentice serving as studio hand and engineer. In a testament to their DIY ethos, the track was mixed and produced by the band members themselves, with final mastering handled by the renowned Joseph Carra. The evocative cover art for the release was created by the band’s own Jay Sargent.
