[News] Movion published the official music video for the track “Cronk” taken from the new album

Luminol Records is pleased to present Vertice, the new album by Movion. A welcome and long-awaited return, six years after their last album “Blank,” for the Turin trio, a perfect lineup for the label’s Post-Progressive philosophy. “Vertice” in fact, right from its title, presents itself as a point of arrival and complete musical and conceptual elaboration for Movion, who since their debut have been aiming at the union and synergy between synthetic atmospheres and acoustic soundscapes, through a sonic narrative guided by emotion and Psychedelia.

Movion is an instrumental trio born in 2012 in Turin from the meeting of Antonio Vomera (bass, synth), Alessandro Angeleri (drums, drum machine) and Nicolò Tamagnone (guitar). In 2015 they released their first album Movion, included in Impatto Sonoro’s top 10 alternatives. Three years later they repeat with “Blank,” also released on vinyl, characterised by the coexistence of Electro-Acoustic instrumental loops typical of Post-Rock and Electronic Sounds from the IDM Techno and Synthwave area, with the theme of the study and analysis of perception reproposed through the sampling of the voices of David Cronenberg and Stan Brakhage.

Vertice” represents the culmination of a process lasting several years, in which Movion have endeavoured to develop and evolve by reinforcing the duality between instrumental and electronic, between technical rationality and emotional expressions. In “Vertice,” audio extracts from George Orwell, John Berger and John Cage find space, in reference to themes ranging from hypotheses on the fate of society in a near future dystopian and emotionless future, to the consequences of technological development and its impact on human relations, to the aesthetics and expressiveness of pure noise and moving images, meditatively collected in a sound painting that makes the band’s work as relevant as ever. Once again, the juxtaposition of typical Post-Rock elements with those of Experimental electronics emerges: delicate melodies and dreamy atmospheres gradually intensify to powerful and distorted sound explosions, creating soundscapes rich in dynamics. The interlocking bass riffs, melodic synth and guitar lines and monolithic drum patterns create nine tracks with a cathartic and cinematic flavour.
