NevBorn is a Swiss band that was born taking inspiration from models such as Circa Survive, The Ocean, Tesseract and Agent Fresco, with the aim of making music with a narrative approach, like a film soundtrack. They made their debut in 2015 with “Five Horizons“: the work was warmly received by critics, so much so that it prompted them to try to push beyond their own sonic territories. So in 2017 they released “Daídalos,” a one-track EP, a suite of over twenty minutes with Loïc Rossetti, vocalist of The Ocean. NevBorn began to think of their music as a story to be developed in chapters, with the idea of narrating long and intricate stories. In 2023, they embarked on an ambitious project: a trilogy dedicated to the Twelve Labours of Hercules. The first part “Alkaios – Part I – The Eagle” was praised for the complexity of the writing, the quality of the arrangements and the solidity of the production.
The second act “Alkaios – Part II – The Peacock” is planned for spring 2025. Like the first, it will contain four long tracks under the banner of progressive-metal. One of these is “Elis,” released by Milan-based Luminol Records, a song-manifesto that perfectly anticipates the atmospheres, contents and sounds of the new record coming next year. “Elis” tells of Heracles‘ fifth effort, his demand for justice after cleaning the stables of King Augias. Through the dual perspective of Heracles and Phileus, Augia‘ son, NevBorn experience a powerful blend of myth and Progressive Metal.
