Swiss Post-Rock artist DRLCT released the debut album “Médée” on May 31, 2024 via Sunday Fog Records. Consisting of four tracks for almost 40 minutes of deeply melancholic Post-Rock, “Médée” is a must for fans of PG.Lost, Cult of Luna and We Lost the Sea.
“On September 5 2022, my mom died after a three-year losing battle with cancer. In order to cope with her brutal death, I started writing a lot of music, just to have a purpose, something to pour my sparse energy in” tells Fantin. What was supposed to be a confidential vent turned into a full-length melancholic post-rock album called ‘Médée’.
It is composed of four 10-minutes tracks, each illustrating an aspect of the musician’s mom’s final ordeal : ‘Asunder’ – a delayed guitar driven slow burner – reflects on the anger and the disbelief she felt when she learned her life was over, ‘Un jour en Octobre’ filled with nostalgia interrupted by a dark twist which represent the cancer reaching her brain, ‘Flow your tears, that Bluebird said’ – an electronica ballad representing the acceptance and the yearning for the end – and finally ‘Interlinked’ which depicts her last painful steps towards her final rest.” – Fantin Reichler
To create the most immersive and complete tribute possible to his mother, Fantin collaborated with international graphic artists: the 4 songs are accompanied by an animated music video, each with a distinctive style.
“Médée” will be released in digital formats on May 31, 2024 through Sunday Fog Records. A physical release (vinyl, CD) will take place in fall 2024.

DRLCT is the solo project of Swiss musician Fantin Reichler (The Kompressor Experiment, Méandre). Consisting of four tracks of 10 minutes each, “Médée” is inspired by and dedicated to Fantin’s mother, who died of cancer in 2022.
Each track illustrates an aspect of the musician’s mother’s final ordeal: “Asunder” – a delayed, slow-burning guitar – reflects on the anger and disbelief his mother felt when she learned that her life was over, “Un jour en Octobre” is full of nostalgia, interrupted by a dark twist representing the cancer reaching her brain, “Flow Your Tears, That Bluebird Said” – an electronic ballad representing acceptance and longing for the end – finally ‘Interlinked’ describing her final painful steps towards final rest.
