With a reflection on Rock and war, a thought to the late Matteo Guarnaccia and the usual union of music, well-being and good vibrations, Prog And Frogs returns on Wednesday 1 and Thursday 2 June. It is a fourth special edition, as always in Cascina Caremma (Besate – MI), born from the commitment of three different realities, united for a common goal: the entrepreneurship in the territory of Gabriele Corti (Cascina Caremma), the independent discography and Progressive by Matthias Scheller (AMS Records), the radio experience of Renato Scuffietti (Radio Popolare). Mox Cristadoro, journalist and writer, will present the two evenings.

Festival of the Roses Floats, Venti...

Prog And Frogs is a unique event of its kind in Italy, as it recovers the atmosphere, spirit and mood of the 60s and 70s festivals, when music linked meditation, art, culture and protest. The extraordinary location, Cascina Caremma, is decisive: immersed in the Parco del Ticino, it is a reality that started in 1988 with the conversion of the land to the organic production method, which over the years has become an appreciated farmhouse but above all a laboratory of ideas and initiatives for the protection and enhancement of the territory.

Wednesday 1 June from 19.00 on the barn of the Cascina, with free admission, there will be three proposals. At the opening, the Fase Obo by Marco Pisi (guitars, oud, bouzouki) and Flavio Marzio Ceriotti (double bass, rebab) with Demetrio Pisi (bass clarinet, theremin), ranging from improvisation to Arabic / Mediterranean sounds, with experiments close to Free Jazz and Contemporary music. Followed by the CFC, a formation born in the spring of 1974 thanks to the love for Genesis, which they paid homage with passion by becoming one of the most prolific cover bands of Genesis and the most prolific national and international Prog in western Milan. Final dedicated to the memory of Franco Battiato and Giusto Pio with Fabio Cinti and Arturo Stàlteri: the two artists propose a study for piano and voice of ten compositions written for Milva, Giuni Russo, Alice and Sibilla, never sung by Battiato. The project is called Incantate and combines the two styles, vocal and piano, to bring back to the listener the compositions of Franco Battiato and Giusto Pio in their essential writing, already charged with emotion in the lyrics and in the accuracy of the harmonies and melodies. Mox Cristadoro will also illustrate Rock, Peace & War, a short journey through war-themed albums and songs

Thursday 2 June, from 6.30 pm, after Un Pensiero per Matteo, a tribute to the luminary of Psychedelia in Italy, Matteo Guarnaccia, opening under the banner of the great Progressive. That of the band Quel Che Disse Il Tuono, one of the most popular Italian ensembles in the world, quartet creator of a solid, combative Progressive, characterized by original period instruments and in-depth research into the meanders of the Italian Symphonic Prog of the 70s. Completely different is the Prog-Folk of the Veronese Galaverna, who combine 70s Progressive Rock, Nordic Folk and contamination in a new artistic, acoustic path, rich in visual cues and references to dreamlike dimensions, inspired by a wild and ancient world. Prog And Frogs 2022 closes with the legendary Delirium, the Genoese band active for over half a century and loved all over the world, which in this 2022 is celebrating fifty years of the classic Jesahel, dating back to the period in which Ivano Fossati was active in the group.

Not only music with free admission to Prog And Frogs, since the program also includes the new age market in the courtyard of the farmhouse (various crafts, vinyl, lutherie), workshops (violin making, music and cinema, illustration and painting, yoga and meditation) , photographic exhibitions, presentations of books on Rock, “Notevoli incontri” (chats with musicians by Renato Scuffietti), catering with traditional and vegetarian dishes, made with BIO products from the Cascina.
