“This is a song that describes the human race watching reality unraveling.” The band explain. “What is unnerving is the slow devolving of discourse and the takeover of forms of interaction, but moreover the recognition that we know it’s happening. Yet, we still move ahead full steam, with very little compunction or sorrow about it, and a sense we’re just blithely sitting back watching it all burn and unwind right in front of our eyes. The knowledge of this literally creates a prison of sorts, where we know we are on a trajectory that cannot be stopped, a sense of the inevitable that is a bad outcome but unavoidable. Can we ever turn away the deception that is this new reality or are we doomed to fall into it?“
