Canadian Progressive Metal pioneers Protest the Hero have announced two performances in Japan at Realise It Yourself Fest on November 7 and 8, 2026. The line-up includes SikTh, Kaonashi, Cyclamen, and moreru. The upcoming appearances will mark another opportunity for Japanese fans to experience the band’s acclaimed blend of progressive metal, technical musicianship, and explosive live energy as they continue their international touring in support of their latest album, Within.

Singer Rody Walker comments: “Japan has always been a special place for us. The first time we were there was 2006. We immediately fell I love with it. The last time we were supposed to go we had to cancel and it was one of the hardest decisions we’ve ever had to make. We are absolutely delighted to return; we can’t wait to see old friends and make new ones.

Protest the Hero have just returned home from Kelowna, BC, where they took the stage at Anarchy in the OK this past weekend, their first Canadian festival appearance of the summer. This coming weekend, the band will hit Hamilton for a highly anticipated performance at Supercrawl Festival. With low-ticket alerts now in effect for Fredericton, Toronto, and Winnipeg, each date is already more than 70% sold out in advance.This marks the beginning of Protest the Hero’s new Canadian headlining tour in support of their acclaimed new album, “Within.” The tour represents the band’s long-awaited return to stages across the country following the release of their first full-length album in six years.

They have also completed their tour across Europe, performing headline dates alongside festival appearances at Radar Festival in Manchester, Brutal Assault in Czech Republic, and Munich’s Free & Easy festival

The highly anticipated record “Within” has already surpassed 2.5 million streams across all streaming platforms and earned widespread praise from internationa magazines, reaffirming the band’s place at the forefront of Modern Progressive Metal. This was the band’s most successful pre-order campaign of their career.
