Scrotus Visions

Stanford, California-based Progressive Post-Rock band Scrotus have unveiled “Lavender Lady,” the first single taken from their highly anticipated debut full-length “Visions of Black Mold,” set for release on April 17, 2026.

Purchase and Stream “Lavender Lady” via the Bandcamp player below:

The band is the brainchild of a remarkably eclectic lineup: Jules Jackson (vocals, guitar), Eric He (saxophone), Titus Parker (keyboards/percussion), Archish Arun (bass), Gunnar Hanson (drums), and Samuel Minev Benzecry (projections/artwork) — a collective that already hints at a multi-sensory live and studio vision, with visual art and projection work built into their DNA from day one.

Rooted in Progressive Rock but reaching toward Post-Rock atmospheres and avant-garde textures, Scrotus position themselves as one of the more genuinely uncompromising new voices emerging from the American underground. The presence of saxophone woven into the band’s core instrumentation immediately sets them apart from the current wave of Neo-Prog acts, evoking shades of the Canterbury scene’s Jazz-inflected adventurism while carving out their own voice.

The band states:

Visions of Black Mold is a 20-minute lament of wasted potential and untreated mental illness through the lens of a protagonist navigating purgatory after a successful suicide attempt, meeting ancestors and distant travelers along the way. The lessons, beratements, and tough love received by the protagonist begin how a father would talk to his son but quickly become increasingly incoherent. Will he ever learn that not even death takes you away from yourself?
