Starfish64, the solo project by the German singer/songwriter and poly-instrumentalist Dieter Hoffmann, premiere the title-track “Travel Light (Evolution-EP)” taken from upcoming new 3 tracks EP, due out on January 31, 2023. Stream the track from January 27, 2023 through the YouTube player below:
The title-track of this EP has already been written in the early days of Starfish64 in 2008. It started its life as two individual songs. First there was “A Closer Look” which is basically “Travel Light” with a different set of lyrics. “Travel Light” itself had a different melody at first. At some point it seemed like that melody didn’t quite transport the lyrics equally. So finally I decided to use the backing track of “A Closer Look” for “Travel Light.” Although this song always meant a lot to me, it only appeared as a b-side to “Lost Boat” on Bandcamp and remained mostly unnoticed. The 2023 version finally does justice to this beautiful track with full state-of-the-art production and arrangement.
