H42 Records announces the first-ever release of legendary instrumental driving riff Rock unit Treasure Cat‘s long-lost debut “Let The Cats Outta The Bag” in a newly remastered version as well as the reissue of their “Last Day Of Summer” split album with Sons of Alpha Centauri. Pre-Orders are available now!
Morphed from the ashes of Karma to Burn, NYC and Creek, Treasure Cat was formed in Halloween 2003 as the definitive missing chapter in the riff Rock history of guitarist Will Mecum. After Karma to Burn acrimoniously split in 2003, Will Mecum formed this new band with an undeniable blend of anthem Rock, crazy stage presence, solid instrumentation and sonic riffs that hook deep enough to grab you at your core. Hailing from the Appalachian Mountains of West ‘by God’ Virginia comes the bare bones, supercharged, Rock experience that is Treasure Cat! After 15 years in the archives, deluxe vinyl arthouse H42 Records presents their remastered debut album “Let The Cats Outta The Bag” on limited 12” vinyl. The label is also set to reissue Treasure Cat‘s legendary collaboration with UK’s progressive instrumental stalwarts Sons of Alpha Centauri “Last Day of Summer” on 12” vinyl, celebrating the 15th anniversary of the release.

Sons Of Alpha Centauri & Treaure Cat “Last Day Of Summer” split album – Available on 12″ vinyl via H42 Records and Bandcamp
“Last Day of Summer” is the creation and merging of two pioneering Instrumental Rock bands from both sides of the Atlantic. The album is both a split and collaboration being the first of its kind when released.
Sons of Alpha Centauri blend psychedelic and ambient elements to create a hypnotic harmonic pulse to form the body of a vast electronic riff Rock instrumental soundscapes. Treasure Cat morphed from the ashes of instrumental legends Karma to Burn in 2003 to form an undeniable blend of driving Rock hooks and sonic riffs to create a supercharged Rock experience.
In 2007, both bands collaborated to write and record a trilogy of new tracks together to form for the first time ever a solely Instrumental Hard Rock super group. Together with four songs provided by each act the result is a pure instrumental head trip that never lets up and refuses to let go!
“Last Day of Summer” will be issued on double 12-inch vinyl in various colour variations, featuring new artwork from Alex von Welding and, for the first time, the original demos from the Alpha Cat and Sons of Alpha Centauri sessions. This exclusive release is limited to only 250 copies.
