Budapest, Hungary based Gothic Doom Metal quartet Wishdoom Falls published the official music video for the single “Under Black Skies” taken from debut album their long-awaited debut album, “Walking Alone,” which was just released on December 27, 2024. Wishdoom Falls is a Symphonic Doom Metal quartet from Budapest, Hungary.
Wishdoom Falls was founded in the early 2000s by guitarist Viktor Nagy (ex-Artemis, ex-NeoGarden, Nepride, Mindless Game, Saqqara, Rebel, Voces Terrae) and singer Katalin Soós (ex-Yanna Vespagard project). They chose the name Wishdoom at the time. In the beginning it was all about experimentation and a lot of songs were born out of it. After 17 years of hiatus and several formations, in 2019 they decided to rethink the project. They dusted off their old demos and started recording material for their debut album.
In 2022 Viktor Nagy who is also the guitarist of Nepride showed the recordings he made with Katalin Soós to the other members of Nepride, who were amazed by the way Katalin used her voice in the songs. They liked very much the constant alternation of clean vocals and growls as well as the musical structure and sound of the songs with this vocal combination. Katalin has been developing her singing voice for many years with the help of voice teachers and vocal coaches, and growling came close to her at a very young age, experimenting with it with Viktor Nagy in the early 2000s, but it was actually a Nepride concert video that inspired her to start working on it more seriously and incorporating growls into the songs.
In 2023 with the addition of Nepride drummer Tamás Vágó (ex-NeoGarden, Nepride), who always wanted to play with a female singer and Nepride bassist Tibor Maros (ex-Artemis, ex-NeoGarden, Nepride) Wishdoom Falls was born. Members of Nepride and Wishdoom Falls have joined forces and are currently working together on the debut albums of Wishdoom Falls and Nepride.
Wishdoom Falls’ first official music video, “Walking Alone,” which will also be the title track of their upcoming debut album, has been available on YouTube since 19 April 2024. The music video was directed by guitarist Viktor Nagy, who is also behind all the graphic design and music production by his own production company, Slayen Production.
