This is the first taste of Zeitgeber‘s new record ‘”Fellow Prisoners of the Splendour and Travail of the Earth – Part 1” – an album of shimmering beauty, delicate interconnected elements, and exceptional creativity.
Still present is Zeitgeber‘s interest in cyclical rhythms – whether in biology, cosmology, or in music. Drawing inspiration from the natural world, they create engrossing compositions that gently drag you towards their center, and leave you with a feeling of attentiveness and connectedness.
This album boasts an expanded sonic palette, driven by piano-and-drums, and which opens up into beautiful harmonic layers thanks to clarinet, synths, bass, viola and much more.
One can detect the inspiration of Dawn Of Midi’s patient rhythmic cycles, Tigran Hamasyan sublime melodic polyrhythms, and GoGo Penguin’s neatly unfolding compositions.
Zeitgeber is the project of Evan McGregor – percussionist extraordinaire of Hashshashin and HELU.
“We certainly love this release, and hope you will too.” – Lachlan Dale Label Manager Art As Catharsis
