Acid Rooster is a German band playing Psychedelic sounds with Krautrock and Space Rock traits. The new album “Ad Astra” was released on June 10, 2022 and consists of two long jams recorded during the 2020 lockdown in a completely improvised live show. The first part “Zu den Sternen” is characterised by layers of organ and modulations and effects in a musical crescendo. The intensity increases as the minutes pass, with the rhythm section in the middle section mixing Psychedelic, Experimental and Space Rock sounds. The long improvised instrumental textures allow the band to express themselves freely and make the most of the technique and ideas of the band members, each with ample room to insert solo parts. The second track “Phasenschieber” is more experimental and related to the sounds of Kosmische Musik. Sound modulations and effects applied to the keyboard layers take centre stage. The listener is enveloped by the sound, in a long cosmic and psychedelic journey that combines the retro traits of the genre with the band’s personal and modern touch. An interesting album full of ideas expressed through the two long instrumental jams that enhance the band’s technique. Psychedlia and Space Rock, Experimentation and Kosmische Musik mix and intertwine to create the band’s personal sound. A recommended listen for all lovers of Psychedelic sounds in which, through jam sessions and improvisation, the band guides us on this lysergic and enthralling journey.
