Les Nadie is a new band from Argentina that offers Doom and Stoner Metal sounds with forays into Psychedelia and Sludge. Their debut album “Destierro y Siembra” was released on July 10, 2022 and contains 7 medium-length tracks. The opener “Grito el indio” features heavy guitar riffs and slow-moving, granite drumming, showing a more sludge side to the band’s sound. The guitar takes centre stage, with well-crafted riffs and solo inserts that replace the vocals thanks to modulations and effects. With a solid rhythm section and granitic guitar riffs, “Zhonda” shows a more Doom facet of the band’s sound. The tempo changes are an added value to the song, as are the synth inserts and the vocals that add a mystical touch. “Siembra / Destierro” is a more Psychedelic track, although it features distorted and harsh guitar riffs, but delves into the more mystical atmospheres of the band’s sound. Tempo changes and chant-like vocals lead us through Psychedelic sounds infused with South American Tribal. Continuing in the more mystical and trivbale style, “Helledén” presents decidedly softer, distinctly psychedelic sounds with fine guitar work. A lysergic journey enriched by tempo changes and vocals enhanced by effects that add a mystical and tribal touch to the sound. “Babas D´allah” is heavier and returns to desert/stoner sounds with sound experimentation. Alternating more delicate and Psychedelic passages with hard riffs and more Stoner Metal stretches, the track evolves and increases in intensity as the minutes go by. Heavy riffs open “Del Pombero,” showing a harder side to the band’s Doom sound. The guitar effects and modulations work well in developing the theme of the track, enriched by the mystic-sounding vocal inserts. The album ends with “Venenauta,” a more experimental and short-lived track, developed with guitar arpeggios and effects. The South American stoner/doom scene offers another very interesting band, which in this debut album shows clear ideas and a granitic, engaging sound. A well-executed blend of Psychedelia, Stoner and Doom with forays into Metal and Tribal traits from their culture in evidence. A good journey through the band’s sound, which stands out with a solid and engaging album.
