Dirty Shades is a young French band that offers Psychedelic/Space Rock sounds that released an EP in 2020. The new EP entitled “Lift Off (Live Session)” contains 4 tracks and recorded in the library. The performance opens with “Ignition” the shortest track, characterized by space guitars and dilated sounds, and then in the final increase the intensity with a granite sound. Connecting to the previous “Dazed” is a rhythmic track with deep and bearing bass lines and guitar weaves that alternate powerful riffs and arpeggios. The vocal is dynamic and expressive, and the piece is enriched by the tempo changes and the refined instrumental textures that unite Psychedelia and Space Rock. Softer than the previous “Running For Your Life” develops slowly with a more delicate intro and then increases the intensity as the minutes go by. Deep and bearing bass lines that are intertwined with the guitar arpeggios and the warm and expressive vocal of the singer. A crescendo track that alternates softer and more spatial passages with other more Heavy ones with massive guitar riffs and a solid rhythm session. The listening ends with the longest track of the EP “Trainwreck” which begins slowly with dilated sounds and guitar arpeggios and a softer atmosphere. The singing is warm and expressive and enhances the vocal skills of the singer, for a first part more Psychedelic and enveloping. In the central part the intensity increases and the piece becomes more Heavy, and then in the second part it returns to the initial lysergic sonorities, with Space-style guitar weaves. In the finale the band closes in crescendo with heavy riffs and an aggressive vocal. An interesting listen, which shows how the band is skilled in mixing Psychedelic and Space sounds with a personal and modern touch. The sound is solid and massive, full of ideas and refined passages, with deep bass lines and interesting guitar weaves. Four tracks that enhance both the vocal and instrumental skills of the band, offering a fresh and modern sound with marked personal traits.
