The Haze Palqui is a Chilean trio that offers Psychedelic Rock sounds with Stoner / Doom influences and a Shamanic imprinitng from Peñaflor. Their debut album “Chamanic Palqui Experience” was released on March 19, 2022 containing 4 tracks all of long duration. The album opens with “Alicanto 47” with distorted and heavy guitar riffs that immediately give a Doom imprint to the sound, with a rhythmic session with supporting bass lines and a granite drumming. listener on a journey into a gloomy Psychedelic territory. The effected vocal gives a touch at times energetic to the singing in other acid, with the riffs that continue to modulate. In the second part they offer a short lead guitar insert, then return to the vocal and close by accelerating. The longest track of the album “Procesión Psicodélica” which exceeds 11 minutes, follows the heavy sonroity of the previous one with a Dark Shamanic touch. The lead guitar offers a piercing acid insert, while the rhythm session is rock solid with weighty, deep bass lines. In the central part with a change they take us into a more Psychedelic and lysergic territory, with softer sounds with excellent bass works. The intensity returns to increase in the second part, with a guitar solo, accelerations in the drumming ending in an involving musical crescendo. “Altar Unita” is characterized by a slow pachydermic rhythmic session, while the heavy guitar riffs work with a large use of distortion. A dark Doom track, with a scratchy and dirty vocal, the sounds are heavy and a good guitar solo fits into the second part. Between granite riffs and good guitar works the track flows towards the ending, maintaining a dark character and more classic Doom traits. The album ends with “Hostias Negras” which continues the musical discourse of the previous track, proposing a Doom made up of very heavy riffs and a solid rhythmic session. In the final part a scratchy guitar solo concludes the piece, developed following a pattern of heavy riffs and a monolithic rhythmic session with a supporting bass line. An album with Doom sounds in line with the releases of the genre, heavy and distorted riffs, powerful drumming and bass lines that give body to the songs. A band that is part of the Heavy sound scene with the intention of proposing a very specific Doom sound with forays into Stoner, forays into Psychedelia and a vocal that interprets the tracks in the right way. A good album for lovers of the Doom genre, another interesting band emerging from the rich modern South American landscape.
