Demonio are an Italian Heavy Psychedelia / Doom trio with a touch of Evil, who have released a full-length and “Black Dawn” EP released on July 15, 2022 which contains 3 medium-long tracks. The opener, “Eye of Evil” immediately immerses us in the sounds of the band, loaded with distorted guitars, a solid rhythm session and a retro touch. The vocal is enriched with effects, while the instrumental section in the central part offers a more Psychedelic and enveloping sound, which slowly increases in intensity to return to the initial theme and close. A fuzz guitar opens “Bring You Down” which then evolves Doom sound with extensive use of distortions and imprintingrò, reminiscent of the late 60s and the pioneers of the genre. The vocal is effected and enveloping, interpreting the track well, which in the central part offers a tight solo. With the return of the initial theme it ends. Mainly instrumental, the title-track “Black Dawn” continues on the sounds of the previous ones, developing however the central theme with long plots and intertwining between the instruments. Distorted guitars, a solid rhythm session and long solos inserts that combine the retro traits with the personal ones of the band. A mixture of Heavy Psych and Doom with the guitar at the center of the scene enriched by distortions, a track that summarizes all the sonic facets of the band. An album halfway between Heavy Psych and Doom with forays into Metal, combining retro sounds and the personal touch of the band. A listening recommended for all lovers of the harshest sounds of Rock and acid and lysergic passages, with the guitar at the center of the scene.
