Bruised Lee is a project from Thomas V Jäger (Monolord) and Anders ‘Pompe’ Jacobson. (El Pompero), who through Majestic Mountain Records released a killer 7″ titled “Bruised Lee” on July 16, 2022 wich contains 2 tracks for a total of over 6 minutes of music. The first “Fo: ldzint” is an instrumental Jam with an enveloping sound and Southern influences, with the guitar protagonist of a prolonged solo section. The bass offers a killer bass-line, deep and load-bearing, while the drumming is solid and the duo enjoy developing the theme of the song with a hypnotic touch. The second track “It’s a Bummer” has an engaging sound, with that Southern touch that blends with retro-style Rock, with excellent riffs. Thomas proves once again that he is a master at creating and evolving engaging riffs, as the track is developed with continuous tempo changes. The drumming marks well the tempo changes of the piece, which in the finale offers us a short insert sung with the valuable voice of Thomas. These two artists once again prove to be among the best of the current Rock scene, proposing two tracks with common but different traits. The first is more enveloping and slower movements with repeated and hypnotic riffs, the second enriched by tempo changes and by the evolution of the riffs. The Anders‘s drumming is solid, while Thomas is a master at riffs and bass lines, also offering a short insert with his signature vocals in the finale. A listening recommended to all lovers of Rock sounds with marked Southern influences and a Stoner / Desert setting, whoever knows these two artists also knows their technique and great value.
