Italian Progressive Metal band Geometry Of Chaos released their new single “Lies of Vampire.” The style continues on the path taken with the first successful album “Soldiers of the New World Order,” a mixture of Progressive Rock, Modern Metal, more purely Rock elements and a Cinematic touch. On “Lies Of Vampire,” the Italian duo benefits from the valuable collaboration of Portuguese Marcelo Vieira on vocals and Brazilian keyboardist Charles Soulz. The long song composed by multi-instrumentalist Fabio La Manna and Davide Cardella in four hands is described as follows by drummer Cardella, author of the lyrics: “I think that most monsters are the poetic version of men’s fears and horrors, as for example the werewolf could represent that man who is normal throughout the day but who, from time to time, becomes another person, perhaps a dangerous one. Or the vampire, which is the monster that this song is inspired by: in the legends, or in Bram Stoker’s infamous story, he feeds on the blood of men, he subjugates them with terror and controls them through charm; in my vision, this is an atypical vampire, because he feeds mainly on the mistakes made by the body he lives in. This vampire is our super-ego: critical, ruthless, always on the alert, but he plays as a team with each one of us and feeds on the ‘mistakes’ we make, leaving us to feed on the ‘correct choices’ (the inverted commas are necessary because it is an extreme simplification). A reference is found when in the song he says ‘in the mirror can’t see me’ (in fact in the mirror you only see your own image) and ‘as with a strobe my eyes can see’ (it only receives light when your eyelids are open). I also used this analogy for a practical, if purely metaphysical reason: I believe that monsters and demons can be rehabilitated, that we can accept our limitations, our shortcomings and our mistakes, using them as our tools; I believe that monsters can become heroes when vice is replaced with virtue.“
