Columbus, Ohio based Electroni/Experimental artist Giant Claw released first single “Pulled Me in Dark” taken from upcoming new album “Decadent Stress Chamber,” out on July 24, 2025 via Orange Milk Records. Purchase and Stream the single on Bandcamp:
“Decadent Stress Chamber” is my vision of a satisfying pop music, a ‘Free-Pop’ that indulges in musical tangents and diverse song structures within the form.
Working with vocal samples I wanted to try and not only make new melodies and structures from the sources, but make new lyrical phrases or subtle meaning from the re-combination of syllables. To me the themes are about healing and feeling a sense of release through music in the face of extreme external stress or pressure.
I also liked the idea of blending distortion with cleaner electronic music elements, or blending sparkling synth patches from the Korg M1 with layers heavily distorted bass. I tried to achieve some of the looseness of Rock Music, while embracing the digital kick drum programming of Technical Metal music.
