New video featuring unplugged lead single from new album offers taster of what lies “Beyond the Gate”
Kickstarter campaign aims at raising £5,000 to support production costs
British Prog Rockers The Mighty Bard have released an acoustic version of new song “Magician” ahead of the release of the band’s first album in eight years: “Beyond the Gate.”
Following on from the release of a free digital download of “Magician” in August, a music video featuring the acoustic version of Beyond the Gate’s lead single can be viewed on the band’s website and across social media channels including Youtube and Facebook. It features The Mighty Bard’s founding members Dave Clarke on guitar and Neil Cockle on grand piano, with vocals from ‘new’ singer, Benj.
“Magician Unplugged” has been released to raise awareness of a Kickstarter campaign to support the costs of the mixing, mastering, production and promotion of “Beyond the Gate,” which is set to be launched independently this December. A direct link to the Kickstarter page can be found here:
The band has set a fundraising target of £5,000 / circa $5,800, with a closing date for contributions set at 14 October 2022. Kickstarter pledge options range from digital download, CD and vinyl pre-orders to band merchandise, handwritten lyric sheets, listening parties, meet and greets, future concert tickets and more.
Yaron Fuchs, the New York-based Grammy-nominated uber-producer and engineer, is producing all-new mixes of the album tracks. From Herbie Hancock to Christina Aguilera, Sting and more, Fuchs has a reputation for bringing out the very best in bands and solo artists alike, and The Mighty Bard are that confident listeners will enjoy a top-notch musical tour de force that will take its place alongside some of the very best Classic Rock to be released in recent years.
Album tracks include the eponymous title track, Beyond the Gate; Magician; Guarded Secret; Illusion; Compound The Problem; The Garden; and Last Orders. The band will be promoting the music live over the next year and will start work on the follow-up album from spring 2023.
The initial studio mix of “Magician” is available to download for free from www.tmbmusicshop.com, along with a second single, “Illusion.”
