Kramp – Jam 4 — A Swedish power trio from Hallstahammar and Västerås, active 1975 to 1984 but never released a record in their lifetime. Four lo-fi cassette rehearsal recordings from 1978 are now available through Stockholm archival imprint Subliminal Sounds. Blues-inflected Heavy Rock with Progressive instincts, built on Eric Åström‘s guitar, Stefan “Molle” Glökl’s drums, and Lasse Lindholm’s fretless bass — a secret weapon that elevates the whole thing well beyond standard jam territory. Raw, unedited, and entirely worth it. [Read more]
The Third Mind – Spellbinder! (Tchad Blake Mix) — “The Spellbinder!” companion album to last year’s “Right Now!” returns the Dave Alvin-led collective to its original improvisational spirit. The hypnotic title track draws on the jazz guitar legacy of Gabor Szabo, filtered through David Immerglück‘s playing and an unexpected iKaossilator layer. Mixed by Grammy-winning engineer Tchad Blake. Free-form, drifting between Jazz, Psychedelia, and Ambient soundscape — as close as The Third Mind has come to its founding concept. [Read more]

Spectral Sorcery – Dreams Of Arrakis A solo project from Pennsylvania, Spectral Sorcery blends Cosmic Doom, Heavy Psych, Space Rock, and long-form progressive structures. “Dreams Of Arrakis” — from the Schallwelle-shortlisted album “Hyperspace Odyssey” — draws on Frank Herbert’s Dune mythology, evolving from a heavy doom riff into a cosmically layered outro inspired by Agalloch‘s contrapuntal approach and the analog synthesis of Hawkwind and Rush’s 2112 era. Organs via Yamaha YC Reface, string machine and vocoder via Behringer VC340. [Read more (Exclusive Interview)]
